Monaco finished 2014 in full confidence after qualifying for the next stage in Champions League and winning the last 4 Ligue1 games with no goal conceded.
The new year also looks promising for Monaco, especially after they qualified for the next stage of the French Cup (won away at Nimes 2-0)
Striker Berbatov is still out injured but fullback Kurzawa is back in the squad after injury and his efforts will surely improve the offensive phase. It’s not like Kurzawa is a top scorer or anything, in-fact he hasn’t even scored yet this season, but his actions on the left side often destabilize opponents and end up in dangerous goal scoring opportunities.
Thanks to Kurzawa’s speed and ball control, Carrasco’s talent and Moutihno’s vision there is no way but up for Monaco.
Bordeaux had a decent first part of the season and only the lack of continuity prevented them from sitting on a better position when the tournament resumed (6th place).
Bordeaux eliminated Toulouse from the French Cup after a game in which they were more than happy to let opponents take initiative and concentrated mostly on destroying their actions (Bordeaux won 2-1).
Preparations for the African Cup of Nations began and Bordeaux is the most affected Ligue1 side. Guests will miss no less than 5 regular players because of that tournament: play-maker Khazri, forward Saivet, defender Sane and midfielders Traore and Poko. Furthermore important striker Diabate is out injured.
It is true that some of those players were injured for a long period in the first part of the season (Saivet and Poko) but whenever they are fully fit both of them are in the lineup.
Monaco are in good form and confidence and there is no doubt they can take advantage of Bordeaux’s absences. Monaco -0.75 at 2.00
UPDATE: Monaco will miss midfielder Toulalan but welcome back forward Berbatov. Guests will also miss defender Ilori and winger Maurice-Belay
