Monaco simply outplayed Nice last round (won 3-0 away). They were better from all points of view.
Believe it or not most players feel more comfortable with winger Carrasco out injured. He used to monopolize the game and push all actions on the left wing. Other winger Rodriguez felt left out and whenever the ball reached him he didn’t had the appropriate mood for making a difference.
Now he is more involved in the game and in the last two rounds was an exponential player for Monaco.
Striker Falcao is still out injured but this situation provided young Martial with a chance to prove himself. I was reticent at first regarding his attributes but I have to admit he is quite an impressive player.
At the back there are a couple of spaces between defenders that could be exploited by in-form and powerful opponents, but it won’t be the case against Ajaccio…
Only Bastia’s superficiality helped Ajaccio get 1 point last round (finished 1-1). They had only 1 shot on target the entire game, played in 10 for the last half hour but somehow managed to equalize in the final 10 minutes.
New coach Bracconi made some surprising changes that actually reduced the power of the team (both defensively and offensively) despite the result. Ajaccio’s most in-form and valuable players, midfielders Andre and Lasne, were left on the bench, while in the defense 19 year old Nadeau took Perozo’s place.
Nadeau was overwhelmed, got a red card and will miss this game.
Ajaccio should should use the same team as 2 rounds ago, when they lost 4-0 away at Bordeaux, with Perozo, Lasne and Andre back in the squad.
You should expect a one sided game with many opportunities for the home side and at least 3 or 4 goals. The price of 1.98 for Monaco -2 (with money back if they win only by 2) is safe and valuable in the same time.
