Marseille Bordeaux Preview

marseille bordeaux preview

MARSEILLE

Just like in many games this season, Marseille dominated last week but the end result was very disappointing (lost 2-1 against Bastia).

They somehow conceded twice against one of worst attacks in the tournament, and as expected, they once again played around with opportunities.

Frustration is at high levels at Marseille, players can’t concentrate anymore and perform way below standards. Most probably coach Michel will leave in summer, as the chances to save the season are very slim.

Important winger Alessandrini got a red card and will be suspended for this game.

BORDEAUX

Although they were clearly dominated in terms of posession, Bordeaux managed to take Monaco by surprise last round, and deserved to take all points (finished 2-1).

Fullback Poundje was promoted to the winger position and Bordeaux started with a very young attacking department. Offensive players Ounas, Toure, Poundje and Crivelli were very excited by the opportunity to be in the lineup and play together.

Bordeaux concentrated mostly on killing the game in midfield, but they were also extremely dangerous on counters, thanks to the determination of the young attacking players. Ounas and Toure scored a goal each, and it would be a shame not to see them in the lineup this round.

Guests will welcome back defender Sane after suspension.

BETTING

Marseille will once again be impatient and nervous, forced by coach’s Michel attempt to save the season and his position. On the other hand Bordeaux are in good confidence now, and have absolutely no reason to have an aggressive approach. Most probably Bordeaux will use the same tactics as last round, and the chances for another positive result are pretty good. BORDEAUX +0.5 at 1.96

UPDATE: Bordeaux’s striker Diabate was once again left outside the squad, while midfielder Chantome is still injured.
