Ever since striker Lacazette got injured Lyon stopped winning games. Lacazette plays a huge role for the offensive phase and in his absence attacking players can’t achieve full potential.
At the moment Lyon are sitting on 3 consecutive draws after unconvincing performances. Things should go back to normal this round seeing that Lacazette resumed collective training and should return to the lineup.
With Lacazette and Fekir upfront Lyon can open up absolutely every defense in Ligue1. Opponents simply can’t keep up with Lyon’s fast paced rythm and defenders often abandon the fight.
Midfielder Ghezzal suffered an injury just before the game against Lorient last round and at the moment his situation is still uncertain.
Really disappointing display from Nantes last week on home ground against Bastia (Bastia won 2-0). It seems that Nantes are having a contest with huge prizes waiting to be won by the player with the poorest performance. Otherwise there is no possible explanation for the way they are playing lately.
They have scored only once so far in Ligue1 in 2015 and unfortunately for them there are no signs of improvement.
In comparison to the first part of the season the defense looks way worse even after key defender Djilobdji returned to the lineup after the African Cup of Nations.
Football is far from an exact science but only by a miracle Nantes will get something from this encounter. Lyon are hungry to get back to winning days and with Lacazette in the lineup again they will be unstoppable. Lyon -1 at 2.00.
UPDATE: As anticipated Lyon welcome back forward Lacazette. Nantes will welcome back fullback Veigneau after injury.
