Lyon have a great chance of qualifying directly in Champions League next season. They are playing good football and have an accessible schedule, with games against relegation candidates Gazelec Ajaccio and Reims, and an encounter against direct competitors Monaco.
Lyon are doing really good from an offensive point of view, and things can only get better, since creative midfielder Cornet will return after being suspended last round.
Lately Lyon have tried to be more compact and careful in the defensive phase. It worked, up to a point, but there are no reasons to worry, as long as they are able to outscore opponents.
Last round, Gazelec Ajaccio’s opponents made some incredible mistakes and simply gave the ball away on a silver platter, more than once (Gazelec Ajaccio won 3-2 against Bastia).
Attacking wise, Ajaccio were very efficient and successfully exploited all mistakes opponents made. But in defense they were once again hesitant and one step behind opponents. Guests will welcome back important defender Filippi who was suspended last week, but unfortunately the defensive strength won’t improve, as defensive midfielder Le Moigne will sit out (suspended).
Ajaccio are just 1 point safe from relegation, and it will surely be a difficult end of the season, especially since a game against PSG will follow next week.
Hosts should start the game in force trying to assure the victory as soon as possible. But the three points are extremely important for Ajaccio as well, and this game can easily turn into a goal fest, especially if there will be an early goal. OVER 2.75 GOALS at 1.89
