Lorient Toulouse Preview

lorient toulouse preview

After the positive result last week away at Caen, Lorient don’t have any relegation woes for the rest of the season, and they can afford make some changes and preserve energy for the French Cup semi finals against PSG next week.

Lorient won only one game in the last 5 rounds, but they have been very impressive from an offensive point of view. Forward Waris is in excellent form and continuously creates problems for opponents, while young forward Jeannot is improving with each round. By now it seems he achieved full potential, scored a goal last round and was extremely active and inventive.

In defense Lorient really miss captain Lautoa, and struggle to keep opponents away from the penalty box each game. Luckily, all central midfielders are defensive minded and concentrate exclusively on the defensive phase.

Last round Toulouse made another step in the fight to avoid relegation. They easily won 4-0 against Bastia, but it has to be mentioned that the first half was extremely balanced. Furthermore, opponents seemed to be in control, and the difference was made only after Bastia’s coach made a weird offensive change in second half.

Two difficult games will follow for Toulouse, against Lyon and St Etienne, so they will be extremely motivated this round trying to collect as many points as possible.

Offensive players seem to be in good confidence, especially forwards Ben Yedder and Braithwaite who scored last round and constantly created problems for opponents.

Toulouse will definitely be the ones more determined, but Lorient always proved to be uncomfortable opponents and won’t give up without a fight.
