Lorient – Toulouse Preview

Awful performance from Lorient last round away at Lens and they were lucky to return home with 1 point (finished 0-0). Not only last round but two weeks ago as well Lorient had a disappointing performance.

Exactly when they needed to increase rythm in order to distance themselves from the relegation zone Lorient took the foot off the gas and started to relax.

All players are slower than ever and creativity is at an all time low. Unfortunately for them it will be almost impossible to get back on the right track since they will once again have to do without important defender Lautoa and key winger Guerreiro.

Balanced game between Toulouse and Montpellier last round but thanks to pragmatism and confidence Toulouse managed to win 3 important points. They are still sitting on the 18th position that will take them to Ligue2 at the end of the season, but the situation is pretty tight in the lower half of the table and everything can happen (they can even finish the season in the middle of the table).

Although once in a while they seem sloppy and careless Toulouse have improved recently in all departments. Upfront Ben Yedder has increased playing appetite and takes many actions on his own and offensive midfielder Trejo also has increased confidence after finding the net last round (only his 2nd goal of the season).

Even if he is experienced and also very talented defender Kana-Biyik seems to be a major liability. From time to time he’s got an inexplicable attitude and simply goes the other way when opponents attack. Hopefully he will perform at full potential until the end of the season as Toulouse need all the points they can get.

Toulouse will have to do without forward Pesic who suffered an injury last round and without suspended defender Grigore. On the other hand they will welcome back fullback Tisserand.

With form and confidence on their side Toulouse should pick up at least 1 point from this encounter. Toulouse +0.25 at 2.09
