I keep on betting against Lorient and they keep on winning… Despite the 3 consecutive wins I am still not impressed by Lorient.
Take last round for example, there was always too much space between Lorient’s defenders so Montpellier created a couple of chances but, due to the poor form of striker Montano, missed them all.
[level-super-member]Meanwhile Lorient had only 2 shots on target and won 2-0… Two rounds ago against Nice they also had 2 shots on target but won 3-0…(one own goal). They are pragmatic and take their chances but they are also very lucky and sooner or later this blind luck of theirs will end.[/level-super-member]
Lorient will welcome back central defender / midfielder Lautoa after being suspended last round. Most probably winger Monnet-Pacquet and striker Aliadiere will also return after injury but they should start on the bench.
Rennes made an amazing game last round against St Etienne. Both defensively and offensively they were magnificent.
Upfront the trio Alessandrini – Kadir – Pitroipa exploited every tiny space in St Etienne’s defense. Not to mention Argentinian striker Romero (scored twice) who is usually a reserve but nowadays is in top form and was preferred in the detriment of Oliveira.
Most probably upfront Rennes will start in the same formation. Judging by their form, they won’t act like Lorient’s previous opponents (waste their chances), but instead will take advantage of all the space between defenders.
Rennes could welcome back central defender Kana Biyik. Even if he won’t make it, his replacement young Hountondji proved last round he is a valuable player and pretty soon major teams in Europe will be after him.
I just have to go against Lorient again. This time even the odds against them are valuable. Rennes +0.5 at 1.75
UPDATE: Unfortunately Rennes will miss both Kadir and Alesandrinni. No bet now
