Lorient made an excellent game last round away at Reims and deservingly won 3-1. Winger Guerreiro and forward Jeannot had really impressive performances and managed to find the net and deliver an assist each.
Portuguese winger Guerreiro was simply unstoppable on the left flank and made the difference through speed and ball control. He often took opponents out of play by simple line but effective line changes.
Forward Jeannot is also in top form and scored 3 goals so far since the season resumed. Jordan Ayew should get back from the African Cup of Nations and together with Jeannot they will make a fierce attacking duo.
In defense Lorient were lucky to have conceded only once as opponents had many spaces available and defenders were once again slow and undecided.
Lyon were really fortunate not to lose last week against PSG (finished 1-1). PSG constantly pushed the game forward but lacked efficiency and played around with opportunities.
Fullback Jallet was once again easily outplayed and undoubtedly he will have huge headaches against Lorient with in-form and highly skilled winger Guerreiro as direct opponent. It won’t be necessary for Guerreiro to make any dribbling moves, he can simply outrun Jallet thanks to superior speed.
Lyon may welcome back forward Lacazette after injury but there is no certainty in this moment.
The key battle Guerreiro – Jallet can help hosts find the net and get some precious points, but in the same time Lyon have one of the most productive attacks in Ligue1 and can always score against a slow defense. Over 2.50 goals at 2.11
UPDATE: Lyon will once again miss forward Lacazette
