Lorient Guingamp Preview

lorient guingamp preview

LORIENT

Last round Lorient missed key player Waris, and it was difficult for them keep up with an in-form and confident team (lost 2-1 at Nantes).

Still, in-spite losing the game, Lorient were very determined and believed in their chance until the final whistle.

Things should return to normal this round as Lorient will welcome back forward Waris. He was left outside the squad because of a conflict with coach Ripoll, but according to latest reports it seems that both of them are ready to forget the past and concentrate on the future.

Lorient have huge potential, especially in the offensive phase, and if the atmosphere in the locker room is normal, they are are capable of impressive performances.

Hosts will miss fullback Gassama and midfielders Bellugou and Jouffre .

GUINGAMP

Poor performance from Guingamp last round against Bordeaux (lost 4-2). They missed key midfielder Sankhare, but that is no excuse for the huge spaces in defense.

Attacking-wise they weren’t any better, as forwards Briand and Erdinc were uninspired, and Guingamp had to rely on set pieces and long balls.

They will welcome back midfielder Sankhare, and he may add a bit of vitality to the attacking phase.

Guests will miss defender Kerbrat and midfielder Mathis due to suspension, but may welcome back defender Leveque after injury.

BETTING

In-spite winning 10 points in the last 5 rounds, Guingamp looked very slow recently and also lacked inspiration. Lorient were pretty unlucky so far because of injuries and suspensions, and weren’t able of playing at full potential. Now, against an opponent who seems to be worn out, it is the perfect opportunity for Lorient to make the most of their skills. LORIENT -0.5 at 2.25
