These are rough times for Lorient but somehow they still perform at decent standards. Important players continue to leave and Lorient must adapt each round to a new style without an exponential player.
Until now they have lost winger Monnet-Paquet and both forwards Aliadiere and Aboubakar. This week central defender Ecuele Manga will also transfer-out.
Players that arrived are nowhere near the same level, so Lorient have to struggle and make twice the efforts, at least until they get accustomed to a new style without the mentioned players. Still, as we could see so far, Lorient are determined to give their best and build a new and powerful team.
Forward Diallo suffered an injury last week and will miss. But the good news is winger Jouffre and captain Lautoa resumed training.
According to the performances in the field Guingamp is one of the poorest sides in Ligue1 (alongside Evian), in-spite winning 1 game.
It is really funny to see how all of Guingamp’s players rush where the ball is and forget all about marking opponents. With a simple pass the entire team can be caught on the wrong foot.
Striker Yatabare was Guingamp’s top-scorer last season but now he is waiting to transfer-out and is only a bench warmer. It is unknown yet if he will leave until Saturday, but for sure his qualities will go unexploited even if still at Guingamp.
Mandanne and newly arrived Schwartz play upfront for Guingamp and they surely are some of the most lazy forwards out-there. They parade around the pitch and are always caught in huge off-sides.
Midfielders are also uninspired when it comes to delivering decisive passes, so besides a solid central defense Guingamp are at a Ligue2 level.
Fullback Baca got injured last round and most likely will sit out against his former teammates (transferred this summer from Lorient).
Lorient are in a transition mode but Guingamp could prove to be the perfect opponents for hosts to win some chemistry, confidence and form. Lorient -0.5 at 2.13
UPDATE: For Lorient winger Jouffre is still injured but Lautoa returns to the squad. Guingamp will miss fullback Jacobsen but newly loaned-in Jeremy Pied is available.
