There aren’t any news concerning Lorient since their game last round was postponed due to heavy snow.
There is a good mood in Lorient following some decent results (drew against Lyon and won over Reims). Especially the offensive phase looks good with forward Jeannot in top form and winger Guerreiro once again a reliable pillar.
Every-time when Guerreiro has the ball opponents are in extreme difficulty regardless if he continues on his own trying to infiltrate inside the penalty box or he delivers precise balls for Jeannot.
In defense there is a different situation as defenders nowadays are kind of slow and lack vision.
Bastia got a great result last week against Lille (won 2-1). The victory was fully deserved and is proof Bastia are headed in the right direction. The attacking trio Danic – Boudebouz – Ayite was extremely lively and often cornered a highly organized opponent.
Bastia’s recent performances are really worthy of praise especially since forward Tallo (2nd top-scorer) hasn’t played since the African Cup of Nations. He was once again left outside the squad last round for unknown reasons but his absence is not being felt.
Bastia are lucky to have young players like Kamano (18 years old) and Ongenda (19 years old) on the bench. Both of them are highly skilled and can make the difference thanks to excellent ball control and impressive speed. If both of them enter the field somewhere in 2nd half a tired opponent will easily be overwhelmed by their vivacity.
A balanced game is foreseen with both sides trying to make the most of their good form but in the same time concentrating on not making any errors that could facilitate opponents’ job.
UPDATE: Bastia will have to do without fullback Palmieri
