Lorient are third from the bottom but considering the way they performed so far Lorient could easily sit in the last position.
They have incredible hard times in going forward and most their actions finish even before they truly start. They are simply unable to hold possession in the other half and in these conditions there is constant pressure on defenders.
Coach Ripoll is really annoying as he continues to use Moukandjo as a striker instead of a winger, and prefers young and inexperienced Bouanga on the side. Things may change this round as forward Waris and winger Jouffre should return after injuries.
Still, in central midfield Lorient are at Ligue2 level and this affects both the defensive and offensive phase. Mesloub, Abdullah and NDong are very slow and lack both tackling and passing skills.
Keeper Chaigneau is doubtful and may sit out according to local sources.
Last week Angers took the lead a bit too early and decided to concentrate mostly on defending. It worked for about half an hour but the opponent was powerful and in the end the draw was a fair results (1-1 vs Nice)
After 4 rounds newly promoted Angers are yet to be defeated in Ligue1 and they proved to be one of the most organized and confident sides in the tournament.
Every player fully respects coach’s Moulin indications and Angers seem to be in numerical superiority in most games.
Upfront the collaboration between forwards Sunu and Camara is very impressive and thanks to them Angers can create dangerous opportunities out of nothing and take opponents by surprise. Central midfielder N’Doye is a mediocre player but this seems to be the peak of his career as he is extremely active and even scored twice so far this season.
In defense there is extreme discipline and if by any chance a defender is outplayed another player appears out of nowhere and covers.
Bookies got it wrong this time as there is excellent value on Angers. With Waris back in the lineup Lorient can be more dangerous but still not enough to take all points. Angers +0.5 at 1.98
UPDATE: Lorient welcome back keeper Lecomte after suspension and attacking players Waris and Jouffre after injury. Bad news for Angers who will have to do without midfielder NDoye and forward Sunu (important players). Same bet but lower stakes.
