List of Ligue1 players selected for CAN

African Cup of Nations always give headaches to Ligue1 coaches, as we all know a lot of players from that continent are active in French League, while  some are even indispensable. A total of 41 players will leave their clubs and head to South Africa to serve their national teams.
This competition will take place between January 19 till February 10, meaning that players will miss about 4 rounds. Of course, some of them will return to France earlier, maybe even after the group stages.
This is the list of players called for CAN 2013:

Ajaccio : Carl Medjani (Algeria), Fousseni Diawara (Mali), Sigamary Diarra (Mali), Chahir Belghazouani (Morocco).

Bastia : Wahbi Khazri (Tunisia).

Bordeaux : Cheick Diabaté (Mali), Adbou Traoré (Mali), Lamine Sané (Senegal).

Brest : Kamel Chafni (Morocco), Ahmed Kantari (Morocco), Ousmane Coulibaly (Mali).

Evian : Yannick Sagbo (Ivory Coast), Jonathan Mensah (Ghana), Cédric Mongongu (Congo), Djakaridja Koné (Burkina Faso), Saber Khelifa (Tunisia).

Lille  : Ryan Mendes (Cap-Vert), Salomon Kalou (Ivory Coast).

Lorient : Alain Traoré (Burkina Faso).

Lyon : Bakary Koné (Burkina Faso).

Marseille : Charles Kaboré (Burkina Faso), Foued Kadir (Algeria), André Ayew (Ghana), Senah Mango (Togo).

Nancy: Lossemy Karaboué (Burkina Faso).

Nice : Mahamane Traoré (Mali).

Rennes : Jonathan Pitroipa (Burkina Faso), Cheick Diarra (Mali).

Saint-Etienne : Faouzi Goulham (Algeria), Max-Alain Gradel (Ivory Coast), Germain Sanou (Burkina Faso).

Monpellier : John Utaka (Nigéria), Younès Belhanda (Morocco), Abdelhamid El Kaoutari (Morocco).

PSG : Siaka Tiéné (Ivory Coast), Mohamed Sissoko (Mali).

Reims : Kossi Agassa (Togo), Odair Fortes (Cap-Vert).

Sochaux : Ryad Boudebouz (Algeria), Kalilou Traoré (Mali).

Toulouse : Aymen Abdennour (Tunisia).

Troyes : none

Valenciennes : none.

Only Troyes and Valenciennes will be spared as their squads will remain intact.  The ones that will suffer the most are Montpellier that will have a hard time without the creativity of Utaka and Belhanda, Evian that will miss their main finishers (Sagbo and Khelifa) and also Ajaccio that will have to do without the services of their captain Medjani and winger Belghazouani (one of the most active players lately).
