Lille – PSG Preview

lille psg preview

LILLE

Although they won 2-1, Lille weren’t very convincing last round against Bastia. Most of their attempts were from long range, as they lacked creativity and couldn’t enter opponents’ penalty box.

This is a really difficult moment for Lille, and it seems that coach Antonetti doesn’t really have any solutions. Most probably things will improve only after the winter break, since they have new owners now and a busy transfer window should be expected. Lille will be lucky to finish the first part of the season in the upper half of the table, given the way they perform at the moment.

Hosts are also having injury problems, and most probably they will have to do without defender Basa, midfielders Obbadi, Lopes, Mendes, De Preville, Bautheac and forward Tallo.

PSG

PSG fully dominated last week against Marseille, but forwards weren’t as inspired as in previous rounds and they had to settle with a draw (finished 0-0).

Defensive midfielder Motta returned from injury, and not many teams will be able to score against PSG from now on.

Besides long passes, PSG’s central midfielders don’t have too many attacking tasks. Matuidi is maybe the only one who is constantly involved in the attacking phase. PSG’s favorite strategy is pushing down the flanks, but this reliance on fullbacks can make them a bit predictable. Still, with players like Cavani and Di Maria upfront, it’s hard to stop PSG, even if you know how and where they will strike.

Guests will miss defender Kimpembe who is suspended.

BETTING
