Lille were unrecognizable last round away at Montpellier (won 2-1). It was the first Ligue1 game of 2015 when Lille managed to score twice.
Their aggressiveness, determination and confidence were really impressive and more positive results should follow if they continue in this rythm.
For a couple of rounds already Balmont is only a bench warmer. Lille look better with Delaplace in the lineup as he’s got more vision and his actions with fullback Corchia and play-maker Lopes often put opponents in difficulty.
Forward Roux finally scored his first goal of 2015 after being constant in performances. Play-maker Lopes was also very active and found the net as well.
Lille are in a good moment and they will be able to build on it if they will enter the field with the same determination.
Nice were unlucky not to win last round against Nantes (finished 0-0). In defense Nice stood ground without many problems and upfront they created numerous goal scoring opportunities.
Many chances were wasted and when the keeper was finally beaten the referee thought to influence the final outcome and disallowed a perfectly valid goal.
Nice failed to score in the last 2 rounds (both games finished 0-0) but don’t be fooled by appearances as their attacking potential is quite good.
Nice will welcome back forward Maupay after he was suspended last round.
Even if goals will lack this should be an entertaining game with a fast paced rythm and the ones who will be more pragmatic will end up getting all the points.
UPDATE: Hosts welcome back fullback Beria. Nice will miss fullback/winger Puel due to suspension.
