Excellent display from Lille last round away at Nantes (won 3-0), and they are now sitting on four consecutive wins. The performance is even more praiseworthy as key midfielder Boufal was suspended, same as fullback Soumaoro.
Forward Eder was the man of the match last round, after scoring twice and delivering an assist. It seems he finally adapted at Lille, and is now close to the form that made him famous while playing in Portugal.
Confidence is running high for Lille at the moment and the positive performances should continue, especially since key playmaker Boufal will return from suspension. Fullback Soumaoro will also return after missing last week.
Monaco made a really disappointing game last week against Bordeuax (lost 2-1). Instead of trying to build chemistry (Monaco’s biggest problem), coach Jardim makes experiments and creates even more problems.
Last round for example he introduced Bahlouli in the lineup in the playmaker position. He is a talented player, but too young, lacks experience and this is not the moment for Monaco to afford such changes, as Lyon are only 3 points behind and are playing better football by far.
If Monaco won’t improve their play and if coach Jardim will continue to experiment, they risk losing the direct qualification in Champions League.
Guests will welcome back attacking midfielder Dirar after suspension.
Form and confidence are definitely on Lille’s side. They already qualified for Europa League since they will play the final of the Coupe de la Ligue against PSG, but they will surely have enough motivation for this game only by looking at opponents’ names. LILLE -0.25 at 1.96
UPDATE: Guests will once again miss playmaker Moutinho
