Unfortunately for Lille they have found form and confidence too late in the season and now Europa League seems too far away.
Lille won 5 of their last 6 encounters (lost a game because of a red card) and this is by far the best period of the season for them.
In the first part of the season the attacking phase was Lille’s biggest weakness as they had difficulties in approaching opponents’ penalty box and also converting their few chances. Now things look way better with young Origi in top form (scored 4 goals in the last 4 rounds), with play-maker Lopes in full confidence and bursting with creativity and with newly arrived offensive midfielder Boufal scoring his first game for Lille last round.
Hosts will welcome back midfielder Lopes after suspension.
Bordeaux are getting positive results but the actual performances in the field are kind of disappointing. Two rounds ago against Lens they scored the winner in the dying moments after being under pressure for an entire half (won 2-1), and last week Bordeaux were cornered for most of the game by Marseille and only luck helped them take all points (won 1-0).
Midfielder Chantome will return after two rounds of suspension.
Bordeaux are pragmatic, there is no denying that, as they are creating less chances as round goes by but still manage to find the net. But things will be different this round as Lille are extremely organized, in top form and confident. Both sides are doing good lately but only one performs convincingly. Lille -0.5 at 2.20
