Toulouse made a good impression away at St Etienne last round. Their defense however suffered a lot. They always were one step behind the opponent. It will be even more difficult now as central defender Zebina got injured and will miss. With Abdennour gone at Africa Cup of Nations and Zebina injured they will be using an entire new central defense. Winger Regattin is also sidelined because of injury. Good news is that Tabanou will return after fulfilling hi suspension. Regardless of putting 2 past St Etienne, Toulouse have issues upfront, where neither Ben Yedder and Riviere are natural born strikers. Add to that the new central defense and Toulouse have a tough game ahead of them….
Nancy was the pleasant surprise last round vs Lille. Everyone made great efforts and assured 1 point stayed at home. That was the last game for central defender captain Andre Luiz. But do not worry as they will be welcoming back central defender Puygrenier (missed last round) and he can successfully substitute for him.
Winger Grange is in great form. His dribbling skills and vision made a difference last round. Not only him, but Nancy looks like a different team now than before the break. Especially their play on the wings has improved dramatically.
Fullbacks Haidara and Karaboue upgraded themselves during the winter break. They got more speed now, increased vision and often are engaged in dangerous actions with wingers. Nancy look like a different team.
Contrary to what the odds suggest this will be no easy task for Toulouse. Their changed central defense and offensive issues could prove to be vital in front of an “upgraded” Nancy. Double chance on Nancy
