Europa League means a lot for Guingamp and they have treated the competition very seriously and played with the best squad possible in every single game.
In the midweek clash against PAOK, Guingamp once again made huge efforts and in the end they were awarded a well deserved qualification in the European spring (won 2-1). This is a huge achievement for a small team like Guingamp and definitely increased the confidence levels. But for this performance Guingamp made huge sacrifices and compromised many games in Ligue1.
Every-time after Europa League games Guingamp were heavily outplayed in the domestic competition. All the factors point to another similar Ligue1 encounter, especially since the game against PAOK was exhausting and was played until the final seconds.
Guingamp will most likely miss midfielder Yatabare who suffered an injury against PAOK.
In PSG’s camp there’s a bit of disappointment after they lost away at Barcelona 3-1 and failed to top the group. They still qualified for the European spring, but players (and owners) understood they aren’t invincible and there’s a long way to go in order to lift such a trophy…
PSG were clearly dominated and had to make considerable efforts in order to keep up with Barcelona’s fast paced actions. Whenever they had possession PSG mostly moved the ball around in central midfield hoping in vain for a tunnel to be crated for isolated striker Ibrahimovic.
PSG needs to increase the levels of confidence and a game against exhausted and resourceless Guingamp is the perfect medicine. Guests will push for the entire game in order to prove to themselves they are at world class level and forget about the defeat at Barcelona. PSG -1.25 at 2.16
