Last week Guingamp focused mostly on defending, and since opponents were very organized, Guingamp couldn’t surprise on counters anymore (finished 0-0 against Lille).
Hosts reduced rythm for a couple of rounds already, and don’t seem bothered at all when being under pressure or conceding.
Even if they don’t create as many chances as they used to, Guingamp can still be very dangerous on counters, mainly because of the experience and skills of strikers Briand and Erdinc.
Midfielders are clearly tired and they focus mostly on the defensive phase. Nowadays most of Guingamp’s actions are initiated by long balls for the two forwards.
Nice won 3 important points last week away at St Etienne, but it was no surprise since opponents remained in 9 with about 20 minutes to go. Nice scored two goals in the final 5 minutes only because of the numerical superiority (won 2-0).
They have real chances to qualify for Champions League playoffs, especially since Monaco are conceding goals from all possible positions.
Nice need to win this game and hope that Monaco will lose or draw. Unfortunately Nice have been really disappointing in away games in 2016 (won only once), and lacked both courage and inspiration.
Guests will miss central defender Le Marchand who suffered a serious injury last round.
Motivation is definitely on Nice’s side, but they can’t be trusted in away games, even against a team already in vacation mode. Maybe live betting will be a better option for this game.
UPDATE: Hosts will miss defender Salibur, but midfielder Mathis and defender Jacobsen are fit after light injuries.
