The derby of newly promoted.
Guingamp have the Gods to thank for taking 1 point away at Montpellier last round. They equalized from an invented penalty after Montpellier were denied a perfectly valid goal.
Guingamp are still without the services of injured striker Yatabare. In his absence they are less creative and dangerous than usual. Once in a while they have an attempt on the flanks, otherwise they mainly move the ball in midfield without really building anything, as there is nobody upfront to breakthrough.
Central midfielder Mathis will be back for Guingamp after suspension and he can help hosts play aimlessly around the center of the field…
Nantes will also welcome back a player after suspension, central defender Djilobodji. His absence was severely felt last round against Monaco when replacement Cichero had problems in keeping up with opponents. Cichero even got injured after so much effort, but with Djilobodji back, Cichero’s injury is just a footnote.
Central midfielder Deaux is doubtful but midfielder Audel is available once again after a long injury.
Defensively Nantes are really powerful and certainly able to resist Guingamp’s crippled attempts (without top-scorer Yatabare).
Game could be played mostly in midfield and has big potential of being the most boring match of the round. But in the end I trust Nantes’ experienced (striker Djordjevic) and fast (speedy wingers) offense to surprise Guingamp.
Odds are wrongly set, the advantage should be for Nantes. Nantes +0.25 at 1.73
