gazelec ajaccio troyes preview

GAZELEC AJACCIO

With only a few exceptions, Gazelec Ajaccio used the best possible lineup in the midweek Cup game away at 4th division side St Malo. In-spite of that, Gazelec Ajaccio were 1-0 down at half time, and could only make a real difference in second half (won 2-1).

For a couple of weeks already Gazelec Ajaccio reduced rythm and won only 1 point in the last 4 rounds. Players seem more superficial than in the first par of the season, and there are many mistakes in the defensive phase (missed clearances, soft tackles). Upfront midfielder Larbi can struggle for half an hour to create a chance that forwards will easily miss.

TROYES

Troyes are sitting on 3 consecutive defeats and most probably they will relegate at the end of the season. Although Troyes failed to score in the last 3 rounds, they weren’t as bad the record shows.

There were many moments in which they seemed surprisingly confident, regardless the scoreline and the position in the table.

The same happened in the midweek Cup game against St Etienne, when Troyes lost only in extra time.

Troyes should welcome back forwards Perea and midfielder Camus after they were suspended for the Cup game.

BETTING

Hosts will be very determined to end the bad run, and they may push harder than usual from the first minutes. The same happened against Montpellier a couple of rounds ago, when Ajaccio opened up without thinking twice and suffered a shameful defeat (lost 4-0). If Troyes can keep calm, they have a good chance of getting a positive result. TROYES +0.75 at 1.98

UPDATE: no surprises in Troyes’ sqaud
