Gazelec Ajaccio were pretty close of getting all points from their trip to Monaco last week (finished 2-2). They were 2-0 up at half time and although opponents held possession and continuously pushed the game forward, Ajaccio kept it tight at the back and prevented Monaco from entering the penalty box.
Opponents received a couple of gifts from the referee (penalty, free kicks) and Ajaccio couldn’t play against 12 and got equalized.
Ajaccio are doing excellent since December, they have great morale and perform convincingly. Attacking midfielder Larbi is the most important player, but they rely primarily on collective efforts instead of individual skills.
Poor performance from Reims last week against Toulouse (lost 3-1). They were 1-0 up at half time and seem pretty determined every time when advancing, but unfortunately they were limited in skills, and had difficulties in infiltrating opponent’s penalty box.
Defenders were often caught on the wrong foot and made some incredible blunders, simply giving the ball away on a silver platter.
There is tough competition in Ligue1 and Reims definitely need to make a few changes in order to survive for another season.
Guests will miss midfielder Devaux who is suspended
Reims should once again be very pushy, given their position in the table, but they often are determined and end up with no points. Form and morale are clearly in favor of Gazelec Ajaccio who also have enough resources to take all points. Gazelec Ajaccio -0.5 at 2.13
UPDATE: Hosts will again miss forward Zoua. Reims’ defender Conte and midfielder Bulot will again sit out .
