Gazelec Ajaccio are on a roll. Last round they won away at Montpellier even if opponents held more possession and created more scoring opportunities. Gazelec Ajaccio held ground heroically and speculated on counters with every possibility they had.
Especially as of late hosts have been making huge efforts in order to be competitive at a Ligue1 level. Their efforts paid off as they won 5 games in the last 6 rounds. That’s a great achievement for a small side with no individual talents. But unfortunately Ajaccio don’t have many resources, they don’t afford to rotate and players seem to be exhausted.
If there is one side in Ligue1 impatiently waiting for the winter break that is Gazelec Ajaccio.
Hosts will welcome back midfielder Ducourtioux who was suspended last round.
Pretty balanced game between Nantes and Lyon last round (finished 0-0) but Nantes were the ones closer of getting the three points as they missed some huge opportunities.
Attacking players were very pushy and determined and seemed fresher than ever. Nantes failed to score in the last three rounds, maybe because of the constant rotation in the attacking department. But now, unlike most Ligue1 teams who seem exhausted, Nantes are fresh and hungry for action.
Guests will welcome back defender Gomis and midfielder Bedoya after they were suspended last round.
Gazelec Ajaccio had a wonderful run for about 6 rounds but now tiredness accumulated (especially because of the midweek round) and players may relax a bit knowing they are in the safe zone. The price on Nantes is very valuable considering they are fresher than opponents and also eager to get back on the right track. Nantes DNB at 2.05
UPDATE: No surprises in Nantes’ squad
