Gazelec Ajaccio – Monaco Preview

Gazelec Ajaccio Monaco Preview

GAZELEC AJACCIO

Although players are working hard in every round Gazelec Ajaccio won only one point in four rounds so far. Players are very determined but unfortunately they are also limited in capabilities and have to compensate through big efforts.

They played only one home game so far and as expected they were very courageous from the start but due to the limited potential their adventurous attitude easily got punished by opponents.

Coach Laurey constantly rotates offensive players hoping to find the best formula but until now nothing has worked for Ajaccio and they have failed to find the net in four rounds.

Playing against Monaco may reduce Ajaccio’s offensive appetite but they are surely aware that only in home games they will be able to collect the points that can assure another season in Ligue1.

MONACO

It’s been a somewhat poor start of the season for Monaco with only one win in Ligue1 and a disappointing elimination from Champions League.

Monaco were very active during the transfer window and chemistry may be a bit low at the moment but there is huge value in their squad and pretty soon their playing style should improve.

Monaco can afford to keep solid players like Carrillo and Cavaleiro only on the bench and this says a lot about their strength.

Good news for Monaco as play-maker Moutinho resumed training this week and may be available for the game against Ajaccio. On the other hand midfielder Toulalan is doubtful and may miss.

BETTING

If this game would have been played later in the season the odds of 1.94 for Monaco would have an incredible gift. This won’t be a walk in the park for visitors as hosts’ determination will surely give some headaches but in the end individual talent should prevail. Monaco -0.5 at 1.94

UPDATE: Unfortunately for Monaco Moutinho is still not available and will miss this game along with Dirar and Toulalan. Same bet.
