Only a few words on each game as lg1.fr is already in vacation mode:
1. Evian – Bastia
Evian with no changes in comparison to last rounds. Even top-scorer Berigaud who returned from injury last round should start. Bastia will have a couple 2 important absentees: play-maker Boudebouz and keeper Landreau. Bastia already took the foot off the gas lately so the advantage is clearly for Evian. Evian to win at the price of 2.05.
2. Lyon – Reims
Lyon will only miss keeper Vercoutre and suspended defender Bisevac. Reserve keeper A. Lopes played enough games this season, while Kone can be a decent replacement for Bisevac. Lyon will still have a solid defense.
Just like last round Reims will once again be without central midfielder Krychowiak and central defender Tacalfred.
Lyon won’t make the same mistake as against Marseille last round (underestimate the opponent while they are in the lead). Lyon to win is good accumulator material.
3. Nice – Sochaux
Nice deserved to win against Sochaux last round. Since Sochaux changed coach they have a chaotic playing style. They use 5 defenders but just like a paradox there are more spaces at the back. Upfront they pose no danger whatsoever. Sochaux’s most experienced and stable defender Carlao will miss because of injury. Young defender Onguene (16 years old) received his first call for the big team…
Nice can use the exact same team as in the league game + winger Puel who returned from injury.
You can confidently take Nice to win in accumulators or Nice -1 at the price of 2.00 as a single.
4. PSG – St Etienne
We could all see how much this Cup game means for PSG when they played Sochaux in the league 2 rounds ago. Ibrahimovic intentionally picked up a yellow card in min 84 when PSG were 4-0 up, being fully aware he will be suspended for this Cup game…Central defender Alex will also miss through suspension, while fullbacks Jallet and Maxwell because of injury. Keeper Sirigu was given some time to rest.
With a reserve keeper and Marquinhos in central defense PSG can surely concede, more than once.
St Etienne with the exact same team as last round. Last year St Etienne eliminated PSG from the Cup.
St Etienne to score or St Etienne 1.5, take your pick, the odds are about the same
5. Marseille – Toulouse
Marseille seem reborn with new coach Anigo. They are more motivated than ever. For this Cup game they will welcome back important central midfielder Romao after suspension. Fullbacks Fanni and Morel are injured (I trust their replacements more…especially in Morel’s case), just like Valbuena and A Ayew. But it won’t be the first time without them.
Toulouse still aren’t convincing upfront, especially with central midfielders Trejo and Chantome out injured. Chantome is an exponential player both for the defense and the offense.
1.80 for Marseille to win is a decent price.
6. Rennes – Bordeaux
Rennes will miss a couple of important players: keeper Costil, winger Pitroipa, fullback Danze and defensive midfielder Makoun.
Right fullback Danze will be severely missed as his experience is irreplaceable, especially against a team that pushes the game on that side. Keeper Costil is no Van der Sar, but there’s a reason why he’s the first choice… Pitroipa’s stamina and creativity will also be hugely missed. Furthermore attacking midfielder Kadir is still out injured. Midfielder Pajot will return after a long injury.
Bordeaux are doing great lately. They will only have 1 important absence, winger Faubert. But in his absence the other winger Maurice – Belay started to assume more responsibility and take more actions on his own. His direct opponent will be Danze’s replacement (Moreira or M’Bengue) and this battle could be the key to winning the game.
Besides playing at home there’s no reason for Rennes to be favorites. Bordeaux X2 or +0.25 for better odds.
