Evian – Lorient Preview

It seems that forward Duhamel and winger Sunu (both of them transferred after the winter break) manage to quickly adapt and became key players only after a few rounds.

Before their arrival Evian were very slow and predictable in the offensive phase. But they were very well organized and always tried to compensate the lack of attacking skills through hard efforts and organization.

Now the high level of organization is the same but they are also capable of surprising opponents through actions carried in speed. Their play has a better tempo now and this is also seen in the results (Evian are sitting on 2 consecutive away wins).

Until the winter break Evian relied exclusively on play-maker Wass who was in charge both of initiating and finishing offensive actions. Now Evian have no problem when playing without Wass (will miss this game through suspension)

Lorient are also in a good moment after gathering 7 points from the last 3 rounds. Especially winger Guerreiro is in excellent form and in every single round he either scores or delivers an assist.

Forwards Ayew and Jeannot also showed increased playing appetite and from an offensive point of view Lorient have nothing to worry about.

Defensively Lorient don’t look that solid and even if the support from central midfielders is constant Lorient have problems in defending against fast paced actions.

Both sides are in good form and if they continue in this rythm pretty soon they will have no relegation woes. Evian have the upper hand here because of the better organization and the ability to play in speed. Still, Lorient will make life extremely hard for Evian and it’s better skip this game when it comes to betting.
