Cup: Ajaccio – Caen Preview

Ajaccio made a good game last round away at Nice but unfortunately even the nature was against them. The weather was not that good and it also affected the pitch.

[restrict paid=true level=1]Ajaccio were surprised by Nice’s early goal and found it impossible to get back in the game, even if they dominated and created a couple of chances.

Still, the team looked pretty good, way better than at the end of 2013.

Being bottom of Ligue1 of course Ajaccio have other priorities but I don’t think they will neglect this game and play with reserves. So far in 2014 they played with 5 defenders (against PSG and Nice) but I believe for this game coach Bracconi will switch back to the 4-4-2 system and be more offensive.

There are no new injuries for Ajaccio and no players being rested.

Caen are one of the most offensive teams in Ligue2, they concede in every single game (1.3 goals per game) and score about 2 goals per game (1.85 goals per game). Caen don’t really have promotion ambitions so they should treat this game quite seriously.

It should be a game of ambitions, with Ajaccio trying to find some form and prove they are worthy of being in Ligue1, and Caen attempting to humiliate a Ligue1 side.

There should be some goals in this game and at 2.10 the price on over 2.5 is just too high. Low to medium confidence.[/restrict]
