In-spite holding less possession Caen were by far better than opponents St Etienne (won 1-0). They should have won at a bigger margin but missed some incredible chances.
Newly arrived forward Sala started his spell at Caen with the wrong foot after missing a sitter from only 1 or 2 meters in-front of an empty net.
Midfielder Feret scored once again and he seems to be in the best form of his career. From an offensive point of view Caen are in top form, even without key striker Duhamel who left for Evian (they brought in Benezet instead).
Defensively we can’t really use superlatives to characterize them as opponents’ poor offensive strength also played a big role in keeping a clean sheet.
Confidence is running high as Caen are sitting on 3 consecutive wins and most likely they will adventure upfront from the first minute.
Toulouse started the year with negative results and an unconvincing playing style, but they slowly improved week after week until last round they won their first game in 2015.
Toulouse controlled the entire game against Reims last round (won 1-0) and created almost as many scoring opportunities as they did in all games played in 2015 so far.
Looks like coach Casanova found the winning formula after starting with Ben Yedder and Pesic upfront and Braithwaite on the left side. Until now only 2 of them got to play and the attacking phase suffered a bit. Hopefully Toulouse will continue in this formula and will start scoring even more goals.
Bad news for Toulouse as they will miss key defensive player Grigore who is suspended.
With both sides in good offensive mood this should be an action packed encounter. Grigore’s absence should make it easier for in-form Caen to find the net. Over 2.25 at 1.93
