Caen – Gazelec Ajaccio Preview

caen gazelec ajaccio preview

CAEN

Balanced game between Lorient and Caen last round but in the end Lorient were more pragmatic and managed to take all points (won 2-0).

This was the first midweek game for Caen this season so striker Delort started only on the bench in the attempt to preserve energy. Delort entered in the 2nd half but it was already too late as Caen were 2-0 down and couldn’t get back in the game. Things should get back to normal this round and Delort should be in the lineup.

On home ground Caen are very aggressive from the start and since they will be up against a relegation candidate this game won’t be any different.

GAZELEC AJACCiO

Gazelec Ajaccio got their second point of the season last round against Rennes. With a bit more luck they could have won but after scoring the goal Ajaccio haven’t done anything else besides defending (1-1 vs Rennes).

Recently attacking midfielder Larbi returned from injury and went straight into the lineup forcing newly arrived Djokovic on the bench. Larbi was one of the most important players last season when Gazelec Ajaccio promoted, but taking Djokovic off is not such a good idea, as he was Ajaccio’s most active player since the beginning of the season. Coach Laurey needs to find a formula to integrate both Larbi and Djokovic into the lineup and surely Ajaccio will be more resourceful in the attacking phase.

Guests will welcome back fullback Sylla after suspension.

BETTING

Just like in most games so far Gazelec Ajaccio will concentrate first of all on defending. Caen will be happy to take charge of the game and sooner or later they should find the net as opponents don’t have much endurance power. Caen -0.75 at 2.02
