Bordeaux’s midweek result (lost 1-2 vs Maccabi) is kind of disappointing and maybe even depressing. But truth being told Bordeaux were without a couple of regulars, keeper Carrasso, striker Diabate and defenders Henrique and Mariano.
Other regulars like Obraniak and Saivet only played about 1 half.
Under the mentioned conditions Bordeaux were not bad. They controlled most the game and their play had a nice flow. Especially impressive was the collaboration between players like Jussie, Rolan and Maurice Belay.
Sadly for Bordeaux, Maurice Belay got out injured and is doubtful, so the good form of Jussie and Rolan comes at a great moment as one of them will replace him.
Defensive midfielder Nguemo had some heart problems and was rushed to the hospital. Everything seems ok now, so most probably he will play.
The great news for Bordeaux is that fullback Poundje is suspended and will be replaced by Argentianian Orban. Orban is no Roberto Carlos or anything but Poundje is a disaster lately. Maccabi’s 2 goals came from actions started on the left flank, Poundje’s place, and he was nowhere to be seen.
Bordeaux are looking better with each round and once the misfortune of injuries will pass (Sertic, Poko, Maurice Belay) they’ll enter a winning streak that will take everyone by surprise.
Sochaux got their first win of the season last round after one of the ugliest games in Ligue1 so far. They are still with an interim coach, former player Omar Daf.
There seems to be a dispute going on in the locker room as Daf was proposed for taking over as a full time coach, but some players opposed while other were pro.
As a consequence Daf came out saying he is not ready for coaching just yet, but he will be on the bench for the game vs Bordeaux.
One of the most important and stable players in the team, defensive midfielder Carlao will be suspended. He was the only one adding strength to a fragile and loose defense.
Upfront Sochaux aren’t able to create much and most their attempts come from the wings, where Contout and Roudet are the main actors. Contout was the player of the month for Sochaux (September) but watching him play is more fun than watching Charlie Chaplin…
Roudet is a player I like and respect, a player with experience and vision, but a player without teammates to work with and only dangerous on his own through long range attempts.
Bordeaux will push hard from the first minutes and won’t stop after getting the first goal. They’ve accumulated a lot of frustration so far (nice playing style but bad results) and coach-less Sochaux will be the perfect victims.
The odds of 1.96 for Bordeaux -1 can be taken with medium to high stakes.
