BORDEAUX

Bordeaux made a really poor game last week away at Toulouse (lost 4-1). Bordeaux’s defenders are very slow and also seem to lack inspiration. From wrong positioning to failed clearances, we could see it all last round.

It’s going to get even more difficult this round, since central defender Pallois will be suspended. Seeing that defender Pablo is injured at the moment, coach Gourvennec will have to improvise something, but there is no way to keep the defensive strength at the same level.

It seems that Bordeaux will embrace the same offensive mentality both in home and away games. Forward Menez started in the lineup last round, but was very shy and couldn’t create a single dangerous opportunity. Maybe for the moment it is bets to give Menez some time to accommodate and fully recover from his injury.

NANTES

Nantes fought hard last round against Monaco and a draw would have been a fair result (lost 1-0). Nantes are really impressive in the defensive phase, very organized and confident, and if by any chance opponents get past defenders, keeper Riou can save the day on his own.

Guests can be a bit slow in the attacking phase, but sometimes patience can be a virtue. At least passes are accurate and sooner or later they are able to reach opponents’ penalty box.

Forward Sala and attacking midfielder Thomasson may return after sitting out last round.

BETTING

Hosts offensive playing style can easily backfire. Even if Nantes aren’t scaring anyone with their attacking power, scoring against Bordeaux won’t be a difficult task. NANTES +0.25 at 2.13
