Bordeaux – Monaco Preview

BORDEAUX

Bordeaux were pretty close of getting all the points from their Europa League trip to Sion and were equalized only in extra time, but judging how the teams performed the draw was a fair result (finished 1-1).

Striker Diabate played for 80 minutes but he was once again disappointing and couldn’t create a single opportunity. All of Bordeaux’s offensive players lack inspiration and are in poor form at the moment.

It is not clear why but Bordeaux are under-performing so far this season, but a new approach is definitely needed so they can get back on the right track.

Bordeaux will welcome back midfielder Khazri who was suspended for the Europa League game.

MONACO

Monaco also had a difficult game in Europa League away in Azerbaijan at Qarabag. Although Monaco struggled to equalize they were the ones who created the most dangerous opportunities (finished 1-1).

The good news for Monaco is that defenders aren’t making so many mistakes as in the beginning of the season. Defenders Raggi and Carvalho were the ones responsible for many blunders but it seems that lately they are much more careful and efficient in interventions.

In the attacking phase Monaco still aren’t making the most of their potential but they seem able to score at least once in every game.

BETTING

Bookies failed to adjust prices in accordance to recent performances. Bordeaux are considered favorites but their out-of-form offensive players will need to double their efforts only to reach Monaco’s penalty box. On the other hand Monaco have enough individual talent to open any defense in this tournament. Monaco DNB at 2.35
