Bordeaux – Lyon Preview

bordeaux lyon preview

BORDEAUX

Bordeaux suffered a shameful defeat last round away at Nice (ended 6-1). It was a shock result but judging Bordeaux’s value by that game alone would be a mistake. Bordeaux opened the score very early in the game but opponents bounced back pretty fast and this made players very nervous. A red card followed for Bordeaux and history was written.

Bordeaux were maybe a bit too offensive minded in the first half hour, but besides that, they aren’t really guilty of anything else.

Forward Crivelli is suspended and most probably Rolan will take his place in the lineup.

LYON

Although they missed play-maker Valbuena Lyon didn’t have too many problems last round against Bastia. Lyon played against 10 for an entire half, but even before the red card Lyon were the ones controlling the game and imposing the rythm.

Young forward Kalulu scored his first goal for the senior squad and most probably we will often see him in the lineup, especially when the other forwards are injured or out-of-form.

Lyon aren’t yet at full potential but have improved recently and are a fierce opponent whenever they are allowed to make their game, unfortunately that won’t be the case against Bordeaux…

Most likely Lyon will once again miss midfielder Valbuena, fullback Bedimo and central defender Yanga – Mbiwa

BETTING

With Malbranque as play-maker Lyon don’t really have many chances of controlling this game (even with Valbuena as play-maker as he recovered from injury). Bordeaux have a really powerful midfield and the shameful defeat last round will only make them more determined than ever. Bordeaux DNB 1.95

UPDATE: Bordeaux welcome back fullback Contento and forward Thelin. Lon’s forward Lacazette was left outside the squad but Valbuena recovered from injury and is available. Same bet.

Lyon: A.Lopes, Gorgelin – Bisevac, Jallet, Rose, Umtiti, J.Morel – Tolisso, Ferri, Mvuemba, Gonalons, Malbranque, Ghezzal, Darder, Valbuena – Cornet, Beauvue, Kalulu
