Only thanks to keeper’s Leca incredible reflexes Bastia lost at a minimum difference last round away at Angers (Angers won 1-0). Leca even saved a penalty and in this moment he is one of the best keepers in Ligue1.
But besides Leca all other players seem to be at Ligue2 level, maybe with the exception of striker Brandao who wouldn’t even make the lineup in Ligue2… Brandao is only clowning around on the pitch and can’t even make a simple successful pass.
Luckily for Bastia it seems that winger Palmieri recovered from injury and should start against PSG. With 2 goals scored so far and an assist delivered, Palmieri is maybe the only dangerous player at Bastia. Furthermore last season Palmieri scored twice against PSG and Bastia got a memorable victory (won 4-2).
Bastia will have to do without winger Kamano (injured) and fullback Marange (suspended)
It was surprising to see PSG struggle against Marseille last round and although they won 2-1 the overall performance was a let down.
Although opponents didn’t concentrated solely on defending and opened up frequently, PSG failed to exploit the open spaces. It seems they aren’t very inspired in this moment and that could cost them dearly.
PSG’s first official game in history against Real Madrid will follow next week and we all know what PSG’s priorities are…
Bad news for the Parisians who will have to do without keeper Trapp, defender David Luiz and central midfielder Matuidi (suspended).
Bastia are in poor form and are performing below Ligue1 standards but games against PSG always bring out the best in all sides and we may see a different Bastia this round. Believe it or not Bastia were dominated in all games so far this season, and even when they won or drew Bastia were constantly under pressure. Keeper Leca could once again be the hero, especially with PSG’s forwards already thinking at Real Madrid. This is a perfect opportunity for Bastia to keep at home at least one point, regardless the poor performances as of late. Bastia +1.5 at 1.92 If Bastia scores there is a big probability the scorer will be their most active and in-form player, winger Palmieri. Palmieri to score at 6.50
