Bastia – Guingamp Preview

It was kind of lucky for Bastia to have their away game at Toulouse postponed last round, as they were without a couple of players that have an important role in Bastia’s strategy.

[restrict paid=true level=1] Keeper Landreau and central midfielder Yatabare would have missed that game, while striker Cisse would have been too fresh out of injury. Now it seems that all of them are fit and ready for action.

Especially the recovery of Yatabare is excellent news given that central midfielder Cahuzac is suspended. Yatabare can partner Romaric in central midfield and assure a solid 1st line of defense.

It appears that wingers Krasic and Raspentino are still out injured, but Ba, Khazri, Ilan and Boudebouz provide coach Hantz with enough offensive power. All of them are versatile and can play in different positions.

It is a high possibility that Cisse will be in the lineup. It is about time for him to put money where his mouth is. When transferring at Bastia he talked about regaining a place in the French national team, but his sole achievement so far is getting injured…

Guingamp managed to take a point in front of PSG last round. The result was impressive but not the actual display in the field. It was an ugly game with only a few scoring opportunities. Guingamp concentrated mostly on preventing PSG to build any-kind of actions. Seeing that PSG are in a creative standstill at the moment, it wasn’t that hard for Guingamp to achieve their goal…

They managed to score after a corner and a childish marking mistake from PSG’s defender Marquinhos. Otherwise they couldn’t pose any threats.

At home is where Guingamp’s strength lies. When being visitors they are softer and even unrecognizable sometimes.

I have no doubts that Bastia will start the game in force and will corner Guingamp from the first minutes. The 1st goal should arrive early in the game, after which Guingamp will have to open up and give away even more opportunities for hosts.

Bastia to win at 2.20 with medium to high stakes.

UPDATE: Great news for Bastia as Krasic also recovered after injury and is fit for action.[/restrict]
