In the last two rounds Bastia were very lucky to get positive results, considering they mostly defended and managed to resist only because of opponents’ offensive inefficiency.
Although they constantly use four players in the attacking phase, Bastia struggle to create really dangerous actions and prefer to sit back and wait for opponents to make a vital mistake. This waiting game is sometimes successful only because keeper Leca is in incredible form and stops all incoming actions by himself.
But on home ground and against a team tipped for relegation Bastia will change approach and will try to take charge of the game, leaving more open spaces in the process.
Defender Cioni suffered an injury last round but it seems he is fit for action, same as Marange who should return from injury.
Excellent period for Gazelec Ajaccio who managed to put together 3 consecutive victories right before the international break.
Ajaccio were also a bit more aggressive than usual and got two red cards in the last three rounds. As a result of the combative attitude Ajaccio missed no less than 4 players last round away at Reims (won 2-1), all of them suspended.
Defenders Filippi and Coeff and midfielder Djokovi will all return to the lineup now, increasing the overall strength.
This is Ajaccio’s moment, offensive players are delivering results, in defense they keep it as tight as possible, confidence is running high and the playing style is very effective.
Bastia have ugly and inefficient tactics and Ajaccio are at the opposite end. Bastia don’t have any individual talent who can make the difference and in these conditions odds are way too unbalanced and the value is definitely on Gazelec Ajaccio. Gazelec Ajaccio +0.25 at 2.14
