Ajaccio made a decent game last round away at Lorient (lost 1-0). They had a couple of important chances but missed all of them in the end (even a penalty).
It is true they played against 10 for about one hour but after all they created the numerical superiority…
Coach Bracconi started with Camara upfront but pretty soon realized he is overwhelmed and introduced both Oliech and Tallo hoping one of them would snatch the equalizer.
Defensively they were a bit more organized this round, but this may have been just an illusion since the opponent played most of the game in 10 players and couldn’t afford to concentrate that much on the offensive phase.
Ajaccio will welcome back defensive midfielder Faty after suspension but will have to do without central defender Tonnuci.
Reims’ game against Evian last round was very balanced and draw would have probably been a fairer result (Reims won 1-0), especially with Evian missing a penalty in the final minutes.
Even if before last round there was a period of 2 months in which Reims failed to win a single game, everyone at the club is pleased with how the team performs and what they have achieved this season.
This feeling of complacency makes them very unpredictable especially when up against an opponent already relegated and whose sole motivation is performing well in-front of own fans.
Recently Reims haven’t been so convincing upfront but they have decent potential and against the weakest defense in Ligue1 they should be able to create a few scoring opportunities.
Neither side have anything to lose so players shouldn’t concentrate too much on defending and instead try to give their best in the attacking phase. Over 2.5 goals at 1.90
UPDATE: Central defender Weber is still injured for Reims, same as winger Ayite.
