Personally I was very disappointed by Ajaccio’s last performance.
What should have been the strongest part of the team, the defense, was in fact the weakest link. Starting with keeper Ochoa everyone involved in the defensive phase was hesitant and seemed to have out of body experiences…
Ravanelli is not exactly the most experienced of coaches, nor a person with tremendous vision and motivational power for that matter, and this may be one of the reasons why Ajaccio is performing so disastrous as of late.
Central midfielder Pierazzi is just unrecognizable as of late, no exaggeration here but he’s useless on the field, and maybe on the bench he could be of some help… for dusting it or something…
The exact same applies to Cavalli and Mutu upfront and because of that Ajaccio are crippled upfront and look like they couldn’t even score against a kindergarten team…
Central defender Perozo is still out injured, meaning that hosts will have to continue with the couple Zubar – Dielna, who bumped heads a few times last round and looked to be constantly stepping on each others’ toes.
On the other side we have Lyon who seemed to have found a good rhythm. Grenier is finally available after sitting out a couple of rounds due to injury. Coach Garde started using Malbranque again, and even if he’s not the most offensive midfielder out there, he’s very experienced and he is constantly creating tunnels for teammates.
Gomis entered the scene again, scored twice in two appearances, but that’s not the point. With Gomis playing again, Lacazatte returned to his usual place on the right wing, where he feels more comfortable and achieves full potential.
Even if they are still without Gourcuff and winger Danic, the level of creativity definitely grew for Lyon. Not to mention the constant participation of fullback Bedimo, a player that can really make a difference.
Ajaccio’s attacking attempts will surely be timid, seeing they do not really posses any offensive power. This means a constant domination for Lyon and 3 points for the guests.
Unfortunately bookies did their homework this time and we only get a price of 2.11 for Lyon to win.
